After qualifying at the University of York (BEng in Electronic Engineering & Music Technology / MA in Postproduction & Sound Design), James worked for several years at Warner Bros. De Lane Lea Studios gaining extensive experience in the dialogue recording studios while also assisting on the dubbing mix stages.

Over the years he has built up an impressive IMDB credit list (Prometheus, Kingsman: The Secret Service, Thor: The Dark World) and continues to freelance on several independent features and projects (Egomaniac, The Subject, Hackney's Finest).
